Ways to Wear

Part of the fun of a good silk is showing off one's personal panache in the wearing of the silk. They're so soft and drape so beautifully that they just beg to be worn. The following are some ideas of ways you might enjoy wearing your Lady of the Lake silks. The European Twist:

The European Twist

Begin with scarf in a “U” shape.

Bring one end though the loop by passing OVER one part of the “U” and under the other.

Create braid effect by passing remaining end UNDER the arm of the “U” you went over in #2 and going OVER the part of the “U” you went under in #2.

Adjust as desired.

The Infinity Circle:

The Circle

Begin by draping a long (14” x 72” or longer) scarf from back to front. Tie left and right top corners together in with a small, basic square knot.

Pass scarf (now a complete circle) over your head (knot will be in the back). Adjust as needed.

Add a brooch for an accent if you wish.

The Simple Knot:

Center scarf at spot you want knot. Bring to back and then front again.

Tie a basic half-knot.

Carefully tie another half-knot (to form the square knot).

Adjust knot and tails as needed.

The Half-bow:

Start with a half knot making sure one end is longer than the other.

Begin making second half-knot using longer end. Rather than pulling tail completely through to create the full knot, pull it ONLY part way through as knot tightens creating a loop.

Fan out and adjust.

The Rosette:

Begin with a square knot where you’d like the rosette.

Twist one end until it coils up on itself. Wrap around knot and tuck end securely.

Twist remaining end into a coil.

Carefully wrap second coil around the first.

Tuck end under and secure.
